Progress at the Wycombe Chair Museum

Work is progressing well at the Wycombe Chair Museum in High Wycombe. Here are the latest images of the work being undertaken to the roof.

The contractor has replaced the flat roof to the top of the building, including adding an insulation layer to that flat roof section. To the perimeter of the flat roof the copper flashing has been replaced with new overlapped strips, which adds a striking detail between the flat and pitched roofs...

Wycombe Museum, High Wycombe

This Listed Building has long served as a social club and will continue to do so on the ground floor. The first floor will be repurposed by the Wycombe Chair Museum to celebrate Wycombe’s rich furniture-making heritage.

The building is undergoing a comprehensive refurbishment, both inside and out, with new windows designed to restore its historic exterior.

Wexham, Buckinghamshire

Work has started on the renovation and reconstruction of two of the five oak framed barns at a farm in Wexham, Buckinghamshire.

All five barns are Listed Buildings and Barns 4 and 5 require careful deconstruction by hand to preserve the roof tiles, timbers and brick work. This will then be utilised in the safe reconstruction of the barns.
